Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxed concentration, in which your ordinary conscious mind quiets down and you move into a heightened level of awareness. The hypnotic state is often a daily experience—what occurs when you are day-dreaming, for example, or when you are so absorbed in a task that you become oblivious to your surroundings.
How Does Hypnosis Work?
Hypnosis honors the idea that within your subconscious mind are powerful resources for changing behavior, improving health and creating a different outcome. Hypnosis is an effective method that allows you to communicate with your subconscious, release old patterns, and obtain what you want, rather than what you don’t want.
Hypnosis can be used for pain reduction, stress management, changing habits (such as smoking or over-eating), overcoming fears and phobias, relieving anxiety, building self-confidence, accessing peak performance states (for sports, business, the arts, etc.) and achieving goals. Hypnosis can enhance the immune system, accelerate healing, alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy, or be used to prepare for medical procedures.
What to Expect in a Hypnosis Session
In a session you can sit upright or recline, whichever is more comfortable. You are fully clothed. Using my voice, I gradually guide you into a relaxed state known as the hypnotic trance. The trance may be light or deep, but you will not be asleep. Rather, your brainwaves will slow down, and you’ll become receptive to information that may be unavailable to you during your normal waking state.
While you are in hypnotic trance, I gently lead you into a deeper internal awareness. Through suggestion, I plant seeds to assist you in achieving the beneficial change you desire. You will be aware of all suggestions I give you, and your subconscious will accept only those that are correct for you. Together we’ll reframe the issue, move beyond any present limitations and align you with your most positive ability to transform.
After your session, we’ll do whatever processing is helpful. To finish, I will anchor you to your new favorable state so that the changes that have been set in motion will continue to unfold.
